Who we are
Nurtured Roots Counseling was established in 2025 with locations in Albany, NY and Hoosick Falls, NY. Our practice grew out of the same values that shaped our earlier work at Healing Roots Counseling, founded in 2023. We remain a small, dedicated team focused on providing high‑quality therapeutic services in a warm and welcoming environment.
At Nurtured Roots Counseling, those foundational roots continue to guide us as we help clients nurture resilience, deepen self‑understanding, and grow in meaningful ways. We are passionate about supporting individuals in our community through a collaborative, person‑centered approach—empowering each person on their unique healing journey!
Meet our Team
Clinician
My name is Lillian, and I feel very lucky to have the opportunity to work with the individuals who choose me to be part of their counseling journey! I have been seeing clients in private/group practice settings for the last three and a half years, but I started in the human services field in 2018 and have gained experience in substance abuse recovery programming, acute inpatient/crisis care, counseling vulnerable populations, and providing home and community-based mental health services.
I currently work with adolescents ages 14 and up, adults, couples, and families. My areas of clinical interest and expertise include Depression and Anxiety disorders, ADHD/Autism/neurodivergence, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, LGBTQIA+ affirmative treatment.
I utilize a person-centered therapeutic approach, and place primary value on fostering a safe and comfortable relationship dynamic and environment for clinical work. I tend to employ a mix of techniques drawing from Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for individual sessions. I pride myself on a direct communication approach while maintaining feelings of warmth and nurturing positive change!

Clinician
I believe therapy should be a space where people feel accepted without judgment and supported in becoming more connected to themselves, their values, and their strengths. I work with children, adolescents, adults, and families navigating a range of challenges including anxiety, stress, life transitions, and mood concerns. I help clients recognize and build on their strengths and values while developing practical tools to navigate life's difficulties. Together, we build insight into your strengths, clarify what matters most to you, and develop practical tools to navigate challenges with greater confidence and self-understanding.
I use somatic and creative interventions including movement and art-based activities to support nervous system regulation and strengthen the mind-body connection. My goal is not to help you get rid of every uncomfortable thought or feeling, but to help you build a different relationship with those experiences while creating a life that is meaningful to you.
Starting therapy can feel vulnerable, and finding the right therapist is an important part of the process. My goal is to create a supportive and collaborative environment where you are heard, understood, and empowered to move toward the life you want for yourself. If you're ready to begin that work, I would be honored to be part of your journey.

Clinician/Owner
My name is Cassie, and it’s truly an honor to support individuals and families on their healing journeys. For over 15 years, I’ve had the privilege of working in various human service and counseling roles, walking alongside people as they navigate life’s challenges and growth.
I work with children (8+), adolescents, adults, couples, and families. My experience includes helping clients heal from a range of concerns, including trauma, anxiety, depression, and the many difficult transitions life can bring. In our work together, I strive to create a space that feels honest, kind, and supportive. Beginning therapy—or diving into deeper work—can feel vulnerable, and that’s completely okay. We’ll move at a pace that feels right for you, with the goal of making the process feel manageable and empowering.
My therapeutic approach draws from a variety of evidence-based practices, including Internal Family Systems (IFS), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), with use of art based and somatic interventions. I am also trained in Brain-spotting, which we can explore together as an option if it feels aligned with your needs!
